Customer Review: Total CRAP!

This being the season of peace, goodwill, etc., I will try to be as kind and generous about this programme as possible, so let's just say that in a nutshell it is total and absolute crap.
We get off to a good start when Windows 7 refuses to recognise the transfer cable supplied with the software. The helpdesk suggests I buy a more up to date one ($40.00) which after a bit of investigation on my part (and luckily before I've parted with my cash) turns out to be exactly the same as the supplied one I already have.
Never mind, you can also transfer using a spare external drive, which luckily I have.This process takes 16 hours, and uses so much memory that the computer is virtually unusable during the process. Everything is going smoothly until we reach the end of the process, when a merry "system violation" message comes up and the whole thing grinds to a halt. I try to start the process again, but as this is a once only programme I can't do so without buying the software a second time.
But no worry - a look at the external drive reveals the process does seem to have worked - I have nearly 200 GB of stored material. So on to the new PC, which cheerfully informs me that the transfer will take around 24 hours. But, again, no worry as it aborts after half an hour, leaving my lovely new computer full of half installed programmes, none of which work.
But yet again, at least PCmover has an unmigrate programme which restores your pc to its former settings. Does it work? One guess.
I'm not suggesting that these people have deliberately set out to defraud anyone - they just have a programme which is potentially useful but hasn't been properly tested. Here in the good old UK they would have been put out of business in a week (and the participants hung drawn and quartered), but in the US no-one seems to care, as long as someone is making money.
So my advice: DON'T TOUCH THIS WITH A BARGEPOLE.
PS At least Windows 7 system restore works, so I now have my gleaming new computer up and running, and will find other ways to transfer my programmes.
