I have not yet used this software, but I feel so strongly that the way it is marketed is unethical that I must protest.
When you order this software you get a box with a CD and some limited documentation. However, there is no software on the CD. The CD sends you to a website where you are supposed to download the software. There is no warning to this effect on the packaging (had there been I would have returned it without opening it).
When you go to the website to download the software it typically refuses to download. When, and if, you can get it to download you learn that the download is 210 MB--basically a system crasher, unless you have very high-speed broadband. I can not get very high-speed broadband and that is why, when I buy a boxed program, I actually expect the program to be in the box. The lame excuse that the producers of this software give for this bizarre method of delivery is that they want to provide their customers with custom modules suited for the customers' needs. None of these modules are included in the initial download, so why, like 99.9% of all other software producers can they not provide you with the basic program on the disc they send out and then have you just download the much smaller modules. It's a mystery.
The net result of this marketing practice is that trees are wasted on packaging and documentation, plastics are wasted on discs, energy is wasted on shipping, and bandwidth is wasted on the download. You have to wait several days to get shipped what you could have gotten online and without waiting.
But who wants to support this kind of unethical marketing? Personally, I am hoping to get a refund, but I am not optimistic.
