Software Reviews of Monopoly Here & Now

Customer Review: Don't need CD with Vista 64-bit
Summary: 5 Stars

I bought this despite the warnings about needing the CD loaded to play, and found that in fact I didn't need the CD loaded to play. Don't know if this is peculiar to Windows Vista 64-bit (which it works fine with, BTW), but I was pleasantly surprised. For under $10, this is a great value. Highly recommended.

Customer Review: Another Monopoly
Summary: 3 Stars

I love to waste time playing Monopoly, but you need the disk in the tray to play it, otherwise all good. Since they came out with Vista compatible versions the game is skewed in favor of the computer opponents. They will make ridiculous trades with themselves, but will want all your money or properties before they'll trade with you. There is another standard version that works on Vista that doesn't require the disk after installation. The computer opponents can be beat, but the game is not nearly as fun as in the older XP version.

Customer Review: Monopoly Here & Now
Summary: 5 Stars

I have enjoyed this game sense the day it came in the mail. It is so good that I find myself talking to it, is that nut's? Very good game.

Customer Review: Cute and fun! Not just for kids!
Summary: 4 Stars

There are other better things I could be doing rather than wasting my time playing computer games. But, if I desire to, I am happy to waste my time playing this game. It is fun and the modern update will probably make the younger generation feel more engaged with properties they grew up with. I gave it a 4 instead of a 5 because: 1)you can't adjust the resolution to fit any computer and 2) you need the CD in the player to run and play. I travel with an Acer Aspire One, which needs an external DVD to load and run programs. The idea of being mobile is to not drag around additional equipment. I can load the game but I can't see the whole screen. It is best run on a larger screen. If you have a 12 inch screen or larger, this is worth playing.

Customer Review: Disappointing version of Monopoly
Summary: 3 Stars

First of all, haven't tried any other PC version of Monopoly and was never a Monopoly expert. But as mentioned in other reviews, the cd has to be in the computer to play this. Hence lots more wear and tear on drives. Tried cloning disc and using Nero virtual drive to avoid this to no avail. When installing this game on your computer Sony's Securom DRM program is stealthily installed on your computer. And it prevents playing without the original cd. When I play this it's on an old Amd 1300 computer and the game moves in slow motion. So a faster computer is needed. But playing against a computer doesn't seem right with this game because, "who's rolling the dice"?
