Customer Review: Great Program could use a few adjustments

The set-up of the Fluenz Spanish program is well thought out and teaches you how to hear, read, write, and say Spanish. It feeds you information in way that you will remember. I have had the product for 3 weeks now, and I already feel like I will be A LOT more comfortable in a restaurant and at an airport in a spanish speaking place.
I like that it is a DVD that I can bring anywhere so I can use it with my laptop when traveling, at work on my lunch hour, or at home, without haveing to download it to each and every computer I might use it on.
There is an issue with the program where when you type the answer, sometimes it indicates you are wrong because you did not put all the accent marks, which you don't have to do unless you have it on challenge mode. I don't think this issue is a big enough deal to keep me from purchasing the product.
Also, I think there are some volume issues, when the lady (Sonya) speaks she is very soft, but then when the man speaks it is quite loud. Since you can not get to the volume on your desktop because Fluenz takes over the screen, I had to buy a headset with volume control so I could more easily adjust the volume. It's not that big a deal since it was so easily solved.
Finally, there are 2 things I think they should improve:
#1 - I think for the price, they should include a microphone in the box when you get the program. I worked the first few sessions without a microphone (because it the program will just skip that section of the session) but you don't even know what your missing without it. The microphone part of each session is very short, but I think is is VERY important to help with pronunciation.
#2 - I wish the CD's for your car and the podcasts were a bit longer.
Overall, I am still sold on this program and am so GLAD I purchased Fluenz Spanish. I did a lot of research before purchasing and this program is THE MOST COMPREHENSIVE I've seen.

I haven't tried any other similar products, such as Rosetta Stone, but I've done about 10 lessons and I really like this product. I like the fact that it drills things into your head and forces you to memorize it, this is sort of what I was looking for. It's comparable to a real classroom experience. By the time you do a lesson a second time around, it's surprising how much information you've retained. This product, plus some Spanish CDs in the car, have really helped me start learning the language. I recently went to Mexico and was really surprised at how much I could comprehend. I'd definitely reccomend this product. The only reason I'm not giving it 5 stars is that I think it's a little pricey, I wish it had cost around $200. Customer Review: great customer service

I had some technical problems with the discs that came with my original order. When I wrote a review here mentioning that, customer service immediately contacted me to correct the problem. They sent me a new disc, which I am happy to say works correctly. The quick and professional manner that Fluenz responded to my issue with was fantastic. FLUENZ SPANISH 1+2.....i have been really searching for the right adult spanish teaching system...with much research i choose FLUENZ...and i am soooo glad i did...thank god i did not buy ROSETTA STONE....that would not of helped me...i want subtitles available...but yet still have the visual experience...it really is great...i highly recommend it...i know it is expensive...but you can continue to go purchase $[...] programs like i have in the past...and that adds up also...so take the plunge and go for it.....!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! wendyCustomer Review: UPGRADED VERSION due out in August 2009, with errors corrected.

I called Fluenz customer service, they have an updated corrected version (F2) of this great product coming out in the next month or so. Supposedly current users can upgrade for a minimal fee, and the full version of the new software will be similarly priced to the old. So you can't go wrong by getting the current version and upgrading later, or waiting for the new upgraded version.
