Software Reviews of Kaspersky Anti-Virus 2009 [OLD VERSION]Customer Review: Easy and Fast to laod Summary: 4 Starsi bought this in replacement of my norton which really gives my system a boost. not only keeps my system virus-free but also don't clog my start-up. after my subscription expires next year i will still choose kaspersky than any other Anti-virus out there available.
Customer Review: Silent Power Summary: 5 StarsSo far, that said two months of use of the product since I purchased it, I am completely satisfied. It looks like running automatically without my intervention and keeps everything outside my computer's borders. It acts like a deterrent.I think so! It is the ultimate threat to external theats.
Customer Review: I Finally found a good antivirus program Summary: 5 StarsI use Kaspersky Antivirus 2009 and it works well for me. I don't notice any slowdown and I never get any annoying pop ups asking for permissions like some antivirus programs. Actually I noticed my computer started a lot quicker after switching from using Zone Alarm, one of worst antivirus suites out there.
I'm using kaspersky on a core 2 duo with 4 gigs of ram, On windows Vista 32 bit.
I don't know how it runs on other systems but it works on mine. I highly recommend it.
Customer Review: Ssssssslow web-browsing... Summary: 2 StarsI have had Kaspersky AV for four months. I put it on a Windows XP laptop. I generally use Mozilla Firefox as my web browser, but I couldn't get my work done because there were so many warnings from Kaspersky AV. I tried Internet Explorer to browse, and it seemed to get even more warnings; I was at a standstill. I went back to the laptop many times over several months with the same results. I finally uninstalled Kapersky and went to my old stand-by, Norton AV.
I am no TechGuy; I cannot analyze why this program interfered with my computer use in such an aggravating fashion, but it sure did. Did it do everything else it claims to do? Yes, as far as I know. But the slowdown wasn't worth the protection.
Customer Review: Takes your computer back to 1963 Summary: 1 StarsIf I think this product is worth less than 1 star, why did I buy it? Because I had the 2007 version and it worked ok, although weak on spyware detection. I had a 2 year license and would have been happy to simply extend it for a reasonable fee. Unfortunately Kaspersky is greedy beyond belief and wanted more for a simple license renewal than I could buy a whole new boxed version at a local brick and mortar store.
I checked Amazon and they had AV 2009 for under twelve bucks (unexplicably today they are selling the same "old version" for sixty bucks. What is up with that?). So it was an easy decision to pay the twelve rather than the outrageous renewal fee. MISTAKE!
As others have pointed out my computer immediately slowed down to the speed of something from 1963. Okay, I know didn't have computers in 1963 but you get my point. This version doesn't do anything different, why is it such a resource hog?
As others have pointed out, KAV2009 does NOT play well with Microsoft Office. I immediately began having problems saving files because the AV software was trying to protect the file. How can anyone work with MS Office if they can't save files? If I turn KAV2009 off, Office works perfectly, turn it back on and the problem happens again. There is no doubt that the AV software is at fault. How can any software manufacturer try to sell a product that doesn't work with MS Office?
I've had it for about a week and simply can't live with the turtle-slow performance so even though I have almost a full year to go I have ordered another brand to replace it. I have nothing good to say about KAV2009.
