This is the worst internet security program that I've ever used. It takes up a good deal of memory so other programs run slowly. It also never completes a full computer scan. This is my second year with Kaspersky on my desktop and laptop. A really powerful product! With a lot of internet surfing, it has never let me down.
The program updates itself regularly, at least once a day, sometimes more, depending on new scipts. Sometimes cookies or tracking software does get through, and this is minor stuff.
That said, my best backup defense for malware, trackers, etc. is the program Ad-Aware. This is the best anti-junk program in my experience, and I would not be without it. If you want to run a clean and trouble free computer, this combination will do wonders.

I helped to bring this program to the USA 8 years ago since I believed in it so much.
2 years ago, they went public and put the product in all of the chain stores.
It is the best thing out there, but they leave it up to you to go get the new versions. I have talked to them about it many times saying to put a pop up Window when a new version is released. This program is replaced many times a year where most programs are replaced yearly. It takes just a few months for the bad guys to figure a way around a protection program and only a new updated version ( not your daily updates ) will find the newest styles of bugs. You will scan clean when you are really dirty. With Kaspersky, you buy time, not the program. All of the new versions are free to you as long as your time is not expired. It earns my living quite well and I do not see any reason to use any other program. I am a professional computer manufacture and I think this is as good as it gets.

I just switched from Norton Internet Security 2009 to Kaspersky Internet Security 2009. After running it for a few days I upgraded to 2010 for free. NIS 2009 recently updated the program online and there was a big problem with the latest update. I had found that some applications would not open; they would just hang and stop responding. It would take between 8 to 10 minutes before I could use the computer since if I needed to end an application CPU usage was between 50 to 95%. Now with KIS 2010 if I need to end an application that is not responding, CPU usage drops to less than 5% within 15 seconds.
I would recommend buying KIS2009 like I did for less than $20 and then upgrade to 2010 if you like since it is free. I have run Kaspersky older versions with success and I am disappointed with NIS.
