It works. I'm using it right now. However this software isn't perfect. I haven't used it extensively, but I realize that as it learns and has more time to adapt to my vocabulary and voice, the program will become better suited to my needs. However it is big obstacle to overcome the training. and also annoying to have to proofread what it typed in order to ensure that the program faithfully recorded 100% the words I spoke. For me this program was supposed to save much time, however I fear that it wasn't worth the price. Yet, this may change as I go to school and begin to dictate my papers and other documents. I give it four stars just for the sheer cool factor, yet of five because this isn't the future -- yet.Customer Review: MacSpeech folks great on upgrade from 1.3 to 1.5

When I ordered MacSpeech through amazon, I got version 1.3. I went ahead and loaded it and ran with it. I'm amazed at the how easy it is to train and the accuracy or its output. Its a great step forward from the last iteration of Dragon I used on the PC. However I really wanted the training that is available in version 1.5. I called MacSpeech to see how much the upgrade would cost or if I needed to return it to Amazon. MacSpeech said that since I had registered it after Jun 1, the upgrade was free. They immediately sent a new 1.5 disc out at no charge.
They are a class act.
PS haven't installed 1.5 yet, too busy using 1.3

If you get this, based on all the wonderful reviews of 1.5, then you will be disappointed.
This is MacSpeech Dictate 1.3. However, MacSpeech will send you a free upgrade to 1.5X (1.52, at the time of this review). It's just not worth it to get expedited delivery of this product, because you will be disappointed in what you get.
The software is wonderful, but I feel very misled by the complete absence of any version information on this product.

THE PRODUCT STINKS! For me, it is supposed to be time savings. There is no way for the product to learn spelling of names and other words that it just can't get correct. The speech recognition is good, but to do the corrections it takes way too much time -- I would say wait until they work out the bugs! Oh, the biggest downside is that the company charges for upgrades. This is insult to injury! Too buggy for me---
