Customer Review: Buy only if you are a masochist

I have been using Pinnacle Studio since, I think, V.7, well over ten years. Now I'm using v. 12. This product infuriates me by poor quality. I like the interface and ease of use, but it has a DNA of crashing all the time! I just spent easily 60 man-hours getting my China trip video ready, and burned a 1080p wmv file. That alone took several crashes to get through, and the rendering took 20 hours on a quad core 2.2 GHz PC with 7 GB RAM. Then I found out it rendered with crappy sound!!! To add salt to injury, I tried to burn a DVD. The menu commands are so slow that I can actually *finish* a game of Freecell waiting for it to add *ONE* menu thumbnail. UNBELIEVABLE. Finally, after spending five hours on a task that should have taken 30 minutes, I start to create the DVD by letting it run overnight, only to find out the next morning it got into a loop creating the final file. I tried twice, and it did the same thing!!!
I have enough of the crappy product. I swear the makers of the software are sadists who enjoy watching their customers burning hours of labour only to deny them the pleasure of seeing the fruit of their labour. If I could give Pinnacle Studio a minus five rating, I would.
Therefore, buy only if you enjoy getting tortured!
