All I can say is do not waste your time and money on a junk program like this. It constantly freezes, crashes, and I can't even burn a blu ray disc when I can burn it fine using other program. This program also runs extremely slow even on a computer with sufficient specs (i.e. core 2 duo 3.0ghz, 4gb memory, and dual 1024 ATI Radeon HD 4870 crossfired, etc.). Even adding simple transition effects takes forever; for example, you add some transtion effects between scenes and you have wait a very long time before you actually create a disc image, otherwise the program will freeze or crash.
I have spent many, many frustrating days trying to get this program working on my computer and I finally gave up. I will never ever buy anything that says Pinnacle on it.

I can't get this software to burn a dvd, get many different arcane messages as to why, also crashing a lot. Tech support says I should remove Nero(I did-didn't help)remove all start-up applications including anti-virus(no way!)and hide all MS services. In other words completely re-vamp my system to accomodate Pinnacle. That's not going to happen.
There's nothing special about my set-up. I run XP Pro SP2, 3 Gig RAM, Dual Core E8400 3.0 chip. Other video software works fine....now using SONY Vegas Studio without a problem.
My advice to folks thinking about acquiring this is to run the 15-day trial software before buying. Hope your experience is better than mine.

Pinnacle V12 does what it says it will do.
I have only just begun creating DVD's from my old home videos and am still learning the many features available in Version 12.
I have old VHS and newer digital video tapes from a variety of camcorders we have used through the years.
Pinnacle seems to accept them all and gives me many new ideas on DVD creation. Some of the features are more difficult then others to learn and in some cases the instructions in the manual could be made easier for a novice to understand.
Overall, this is a great program that will help an old guy (I'm 74) turn the old family videos into fun-to-watch DVD's. The many transition and title opportunities will make them fun to watch. Thanks Pinnacle Team. Great Job!
Customer Review: Good, Solid Video-Editing Program... for Beginners

If you don't know what you're doing, video editing programs can be very intimidating. Windows Movie Maker can only take the beginner so far before they feel the need for something *more* -- but not something that totally blows them out of the water. Pinnacle Studio Ultimate Version 12 is that program. The interface is user-friendly. The navigation is clear, and the program itself is surprisingly easy to use. Of course, there's always a bit of give it take. "Easy-to-use" in software-speak usually means some concessions have to be made, most notably, just two video tracks to work with. But there are some special-effects themes and other enhancements that you'll want to play with. High-end users may want to pass on this. Beginner and intermediate users will make great use of it.
