Software Reviews of Rosetta Stone Version 3: Spanish (Latin America) Level 1, 2 & 3 Set with Audio CompanionCustomer Review: $150 restocking fee??? Summary: 1 StarsI bought this for my Mom as a gift, she's currently using version 1. Little did I know she had bought 2 & 3 at the same time. I returned it immediately and got charged $150. NOWHERE did I see that little fee posted when I bought it! On searching other websites the typical restocking fee is 10% w/in 30 days which mine was, plus, it wasn't even unwrapped. To say I am livid is an understatement. I am so disappointed in Amazon it'll be a LONG time before I buy from them again.
Customer Review: Helpful language learning program Summary: 4 StarsI would recommend Rosetta Stone for learning Spanish. I'm an adult beginner and it starts you out with the basics and gradually becomes more challenging. The technique they use is "emersion", so there is no language translation. It is usually fairly easy to figure out meaning from the pictures they use. However, as I'm progressing to the more difficult levels, it becomes more challenging to figure out what is being said. Language translation would be helpful from time to time. I do find that if I keep plugging away, the meaning eventually comes. Overall, I believe it is a great product for home use. The software is easy to install and set up.
Customer Review: Rosetta Stone spanish Summary: 4 StarsThe program is as advertised.
It takes multiple steps to get it loaded and the loading is slow. The directions for the microphone headset were confusing.
Once the program is loaded it is easy to use. It is like the kindergarten and first grade books that use matching, writing and speaking to learn. As the program progresses, it uses this same format as you get into sentences.
My only downside is that it doesn't do medical terms. It has helped me in communicating with Spanish speaking patients.
Customer Review: REVIEW OF SPANISH 1-3 VERSION Summary: 3 StarsI like what I am hearing on the CD's however my (brand new computer) recognizes the CD's as audio and therefore opens them up in Windows Real Play and it is likely playing a pre recorded musical CD through your computer. My issue with this is that there is no accompanying picture to go with it. For example, I have bought other types of learning CDs and they have pictures to go with the words instead of an unrelated background. The second thing is I bought this set as a Mother's Day gift to myseklf for $494.10 and now I am getting emails from Amazon advising that is in ow available for $449.00 for Father's Day. A $45.00 difference--which I am not happy about. That price is still cheaper than ordering it directly from Rosetta Stone's website where they charge tax and shipping an handling which it would have cost me about another $55.00 on top of the discounted price--which is why I got it from Amazon--no shipping and handling and no tax, however, I am not happy that Amazon is selling it for $45.00 cheaper than what I paid.
Customer Review: Rosetta Stone Summary: 5 StarsIt's very easy to use and very helpful. I'm having trouble finding how many users can load the program. Other than that I love it!
