I was conned into buying Roxio software several years ago and again just a few months ago. I cannot believe how this product can be so bad for so long. Now every time I try to use this program it freezes up until it downloads advertisements right into the program for their new version. This is ridicules, and it just reinforces my resolve to not buy anymore of their products. When I bought this software I fell for their propaganda and I thought they would have worked out all their bugs by now. I was wrong, no matter what you try to do with this program it causes you much more trouble than any benefit you may receive from it. It is full of glitches and terrible design flaws that lead you into continual dead ends, when you can get it to do what you want it is often is slower to use then similar software I have that is probably over 10 years old. I could write on and on if I were to explain each individual problem I have had using this product but instead I will just recommend that anyone thinking about purchasing this software consider buying one of the many other similar products such as those from Nero or Sony or any number of good trade names that are unlikely to disappoint their customers.

I was unable to run it on Vista I installed it on XP only after installing the update on XP only it worked.

I tried to install this, and it installed great, but then it wouldn't run. I'm a software developer, and am now running Windows 7 (NOT a beta) on my computer, and they don't support it. When queried, they tell me they don't know when or if they will support Windows 7. Now, that's just silly about the "if" part, unless they are going to abandon 90% of the market (PC's). The really annoying part is they are obviously checking right up front in the code if you are running an operating system they know about, and chucking you out if not, without even letting you try to run it. Every other piece of software I installed on my machine that worked on Vista also worked on Windows 7. (So did the ones that did NOT work on Vista!) They told me to check back for updates and maybe they'd put one out. :-P to Roxio.

I have had problems with every version of Roxio. If there was another package that had the features, I would uninstall and buy in a minute. My problem with 2009 is that it gets stuck on the splash screen when launching. I can get it to launch after rebooting (sometimes), and then can run one function (after which it locks up again). Frankly it's useless for me, and the support is no existent. I try to use in every month or so, and get so frustrated that I walk away.
