Software Reviews of Roxio Creator 2009 [OLD VERSION]Customer Review: Class Action Lawsuit PLEASE!!!!! Summary: 1 StarsCreator is the worst software I have ever dealt with. Multiple crashes, resource hog, and overall worthless piece of Junk. I have a Core i7 with 6 gigs of ram and it still runs slow, when I can get it running.
Video ripping is a joke. My Nero 6 worked flawlessly for years and I made a huge mistake upgrading to Creator 09.
It burns ok but anything to do with ripping or editing video is very problematic. Sometimes it will launch and sometimes it won't. When it does launch it will work for a little bit then lock up and crash.
Roxio tech support is a joke. their universal answer is you need to reinstall your video drivers. Then if that doesn't work start uninstalling components of other software on your system.
Maybe Roxio should have actually debugged their software before release rather than blame the problems on other software installed on your system.
DON'T BUY THIS. YOU WILL REGRET IT LIKE I DO.
Customer Review: What a PIECE of S**T!! Summary: 1 StarsBought it. Install locked up in several places which never happens with any other software I install. Using XP so should not have had any problems. After I read all the crappy reviews I packed it back up and took it back without putting more than 30 minutes into it. Will NEVER...EVER buy another Roxio product again. Had problems with previous Roxio software but this was ridiculous. Always read reviews before you buy...always!
Customer Review: Never Again Summary: 1 StarsI really don't know why I finally purchased this...maybe because I thought it would be the lesser of all evils? Regardless, this software has been nothing but a nightmare.
The good:
-Product installed without a hitch.
-Fancy Box.
-A 'big box' store had it on-sale (sorry amazon)
The Bad:
-50% of the programs included crash randomly.
-Burning a DVD, regardless of which of the 'progams' used within this suite have produced a working, readable DVD.
-Support is of little to no help. Their first attempt was having me update firmware on one of my DVD burners in my PC. I'm a bit of a PC expert, new it wasn't the issue, but agreed to follow their instructions anyways. The DVD Burner is now a brick. (and of course, they told me it was a manufacturer issue, even though I followed Roxio's recommendations - they simple didn't care that I was out a burner that was less than 6 months old).
-Their next fix (changing MS .NET version) made other portions of the suite crash.
-I'm sitting here on hold for support (in queue for 45 minutes now) to see if they have any 'helpful' suggestions.
If there were any way to get my money back, I would. I HIGHLY suggest you don't purchase this.
Customer Review: Big Company Doing Ameteurish Work Summary: 1 StarsWow. I thought programs this clunky were gone a long time ago.
Here are some examples of what I encountered in first hour, just trying to Burn to DVD a few existing MPEG-4 files:
*No drag and drop arranging the order of files. Only way to change order is to change filenames so that your desired order matches alphabetical.
*Titles too long? It truncates them.
*Want to change font size of all the titles at the same time? Can't select them all (at least not with mouse), so have to change each individually.
*Accustomed to standard keyboard navigation? Forget it. For example, you'll expect to advance to next word and find yourself in next field.
*Javascript error.
*Standard templates look like early nineties clipart.
All this and more in just the first hour. Plus the program is HUGE. It took much longer to load than MS Office! I recommend you look elsewhere for DVD creator software; there has got to be better options.
Customer Review: Roxio and Windows Vista... Summary: 2 StarsPrimarily, my husband and I purchased Roxio Creator 2009 for our Windows Vista computer. However, I have still not been able to install this product on my computer. In contrast, I was able to install this on our Windows XP computer which is slightly older and slower. The product works fine if you can get it to load. If you want to purchase this product and have Windows Vista, you may encounter more problems than you want...
