Software Reviews of Roxio Creator 2009 [OLD VERSION]

Customer Review: AVCHD Failure
Summary: 1 Stars

Bought this software and then paid the additional fee for the AVCHD plug-in. This would supposedly allow you to make Blu-Ray compatible DVDs out of your HD footage. Initially it worked about 30% of the time and then ceased working altogether, leaving only a cryptic failure message after hideously long (and useless) renders. Online Tech support is pretty much useless, which I understand is a long tradition at Roxio. If they ever get the bugs worked out, it'll be great, but until then, hold onto your money and stay away.

Customer Review: IT WON'T CONVERT FLV. FILES
Summary: 2 Stars

APPEARS TO BE GREAT, BUT(T) IT WILL NOT CONVERT FLASH VIDEO CLIPS (FLV. FILES). YOU'LL HAVE TO DOWNLOAD A SEPERATE CONVERTER PROGRAM, SUCH AS "FORMAT FACTORY" [free], TO CHANGE YOUR CLIPS TO AN ACCEPTABLE FORMAT.

Customer Review: excellent product
Summary: 5 Stars

exactly what i ordered, as advertised. quick shipping, ontime, undamaged. vendor service perfect. a fine experience - fit, form, function & value.

Customer Review: roxio creator 2009
Summary: 3 Stars

Product was as I expected, since this is an upgrade to an old version I already use. However, I had to download three updates before I could use the new software.

Customer Review: This makes it an even 50 "one-stars" for this [...]!!!
Summary: 1 Stars

I have the distinction of being the 50th "one-star" review and like may others would have given this turkey a ZERO. First, I purchased this package mainly for the hardware included to copy VHS in order to burn onto DVD. I have a vast collection of home movies on VHS going back to the 80's and am converting to preserve. I have a spanking new DELL Studio laptop that I had beefed up for video applications. Well, first off, it wouldn't load the program, kept spitting the disk out half way through. It wasn't my laptop- I finally copied the program onto a portable hard drive and it seemed to load okay. This was after HOURS trying to get this thing to work and it took FOREVER to uninstall any or all of this program.

As for the VHS copy- it seems to be working but my biggest gripe is a TOTAL lack of instructions other than an index card size one-side instruction included with the hardware. Once I was able to stumble onto capturing the VHS video, I am totally mystified as to how to work in the system other than to do a download- enhancements, etc are a mystery.

I should have read these reviews before purchasing at [...]- this is a WASTE of $$$!!!
