Software Reviews of Anime Studio Debut 5 [OLD VERSION]Customer Review: Not really for professionals Summary: 3 StarsI've only had this software for about a few months now, and while I really like the effort put into this, I really think mysmith micro could have done alot better. I have made a few animations with this thing, and after the first few videos I basically relized there are ALOT of limiting factors with this. Overall, my biggest disapointment with this is that whenever you create bones for a character and you may want to put some sort of object in front of you and one hand may be in front of it, but you want the other hand behind it to make it look like your character is holding it. Instead, you would either have to only use one hand and leave the other in an akward position, or, even worse, you put that object with your collection of other vectors in the bone section, and when you don't need it, it would still follow you anyway whenever you move the character. Overall, it does good for the concept, but it should have been released with more useful features.
Customer Review: Good but confusing Summary: 4 StarsThis product does everything that it says it does, however, to do some things are really difficult. I suggest (as boring as it may be) that you take all the tutorials before really getting started because the program does so much. Also, the video files are so large and take forever to download to the internet. Don't even bother trying to send it via email. The program is really good though and does a lot so if you want to do anime proffessionally then this is a perfect program.
Customer Review: Wasted my money Summary: 1 StarsI had never used an animation package before and did not kow enough to avoid this one. The problem is not that it is hard to learn, it's that it's not worth learning. The drawing tools are crude and primative. I can't see getting anything really good looking out of this package. What I didn't realize is that the program has no support for converting any files types into a vertor image which could then be animated and this version does not allow any vector import. So you are stuck with either using this programs lousy drawing tools or "upgrading for $180 and hoping that works better.I was not looking for a "pro" grade setup ,but this is worthless. Wasted my money on this one.

Customer Review: can't register; says invalid serial number (bought at Target!) Summary: 1 StarsShould have 0 stars. I just bought Anime Studio 5 at Target yesterday. I wanted to use it to make animations for use in my classroom. Unfortunately, when I entered the serial number on the sleeve, the program said, "invalid serial number." I tried many more times to enter the serial number, in case I'd made a mistake. I got the same error message. So there's 50 bucks down the drain. Can't return opened software to Target, of course. What a rip off! Ironically, I was able to register it via their website, with the given serial number. Still, it only wants to run the trial or I have to "buy" it again.
