Customer Review: Not what I expected but still fun

I was expecting a program that I could unlace Mp3 and use like beats off them. You cannot...This is your standerd Mixing program almozt like apple grouge band, this is compatible with muiltible Sony progams and thats some thing i do like its more about I can take the music i just made via song give you 3 cds to take and mix from some realy cool thing and mixed into a video thats great for what we do. Then we took and and put in on my psp no problem. Sony has no problem and made sure that there Sony Acid Music studio works with the video and all the others i have not not ued yet. Over all I give this a 4 from the ablitiy to cross a project over and work on it diffently, from diffent aspects. The beat counters and how you can chae your timeing is great wel trying to keep the tone in cheak is good. If you like mixing this isnt a bad starting point sony has made it very user friendly with almost all the controls explained if you need them to be via the toutorual. and with a beat mapper and perview it helps alot to know what you want an play around a bit. I was expecting this product to be just like apple's garage band. it defently isnt.
when you record into the program with an intrument(i use my guitar and microphone) it imports into the program a little off. let me clarify: i could record a guitar part. then a bass part. when i play it back, they dont line up perfectly.
another flaw is when you are recording you can use a metronome to hit on beats two and four. when i record a secound part, the metronme with hit on the and of one and the and of three. that really throws me off.
this program does have some good!
unlike garage band, the loops are stored on seperate disks that you upload in stead of the content taking up hardrive space.
so this really is a good a product you just have to get around the problems. if you know what your doing when it comes to computers then get this product. you will be able to get the best of this product(it has a great ptential) if your not the best a computers then you might want a program that is a little easier to use.

70.00 us for a program that has midi support and virtual voices. it's a starting program its good but it isn't supported by a lot of other people. There need to be more third party modules before it can really be embraced as a serious tool. Customer Review: Great software

At school, my son enjoys the benefit of some sophisticated Acid Pro software that we can't afford to buy for home use. But this Acid Music Studio 6.0 is the next best thing--albeit costing more than $300 less.
In fact, we are especially pleased, as we obtained this product as an "upgrade" to an old, discontinued double set of Sony sound software.
The software is compatible only with Windows, of course, but it is great for novice musical experiments like those my son enjoys. There are more than 1,700 music loop recordings he can select to embellish his own "raps," and he can also (should the spirit move him) create music videos.
In addition, registered users can download more free music loops from the ACIDplanet website.
All in all, a great value.
