Software Reviews of Zoombinis Logical JourneyCustomer Review: BUYER BEWARE if you are installing on computer w/ Windows XP! Summary: 1 StarsUnable to get this game to run on HP Pavilion a450n with Windows XP O/S. Looks like some folks have been able to work around the problem with Windows XP by using the Program Compatibility Wizard, but I've had no such luck. There is no "fix" available from the vendor, as TLC/Broderbund no longer supports this product (they subbed that out to a company called Sunburst, and they aren't really supporting the product either). BUYER BEWARE - you will likely have trouble getting this game to work if you are running Windows XP (or Vista for that matter).
Customer Review: Doesn't work!!! Summary: 1 StarsI can not get the game to install on my computer. When I try, it changes the settings on my display and trys to register, but can not. I tried to look for updates, but the Zoombinis website no longer exists. I am very disappointed in the game, maybe the game is just too old. If anyone could help it would be greatly appreciated. My kids play it at school and love it, but we can't get this one working.
Customer Review: Defective Product Summary: 1 StarsI purchased this, and when loading it into my computer, it shuts down and sends error messages every time. I can't even get through a level. When trying to get some help with it, I was asked some extremely technical questions, and when I (who buy things that are supposed to be simple to AVOID complicated technology) couldn't answer every single question, I was told that they couldn't help me.
Don't buy it. Its a waste of money.
Customer Review: Great logic game Summary: 4 StarsMy kids love this game. It really requires them to think through their steps. It is also fun.
Customer Review: Still enjoyable as an adult Summary: 5 StarsI first played this game when I was in elementary school in the 90's. I remembered this game very fondly and decided to order this last year (I'm in college now)! After spending a long time playing it again and enjoying all the puzzles, I would say that this is one of the best children's software programs I've ever played. It was just as fun as I remembered (my favorite ones are the pizza and frog/lilypad encounters). The puzzles exercise your reasoning and the difficulty setting allows for a challenge. The only downside to this game is its replay value, although again, the higher difficulty allows for more playability after the first few rounds. To be honest, I've never ran the zoombinis to their destination more than a few times so I'm not sure if there is an ending, but they look pretty happy in their new village.
