Software Reviews of Crazy Machines: The Wacky Contraptions GameCustomer Review: nice calm thinking game for kids and up Summary: 4 StarsI agree documentation is limited but my boys 7 and 10, who aren't sophisticated gamers like it. I love it because of the calming music and requirement for thoughtful play. I much prefer it to the addictive high paced fast music action games that are more common. Kids and adults can learn and think through processes with this game. My kids come away much more calm than if they have an action game. And its not violent like too many games now available. It works well on Macs. Modest price. We've had ours for about 2 months and there's always new challenges.
Thanks
Customer Review: Not as engaging as expected Summary: 3 StarsI had higher expectations from this product after having read many of the other reviews. My 10 year old son and I lost interest after playing the first few puzzles.
Customer Review: Fun at First, but Later Tiresome Summary: 2 StarsI enjoyed the uniqueness of this game for a short while, but then it became tiresome. I can see how some people would enjoy it endlessly, but just not my thing. Putting together various thing-a-ma-jigs to make a ball roll into a basket or to make lights blink is not my idea of endless fun. After finally finding the solutions in the separate file on the disk, it was tempting to just look at the solution after minimal efforts, thus spoiling the fun. Someone more persistent than I, might not have a problem with this.
Customer Review: My kids thoroughly enjoyed the puzzles Summary: 5 StarsMy kids loved this game. The game requires you to solve puzzles with crazy mechanical annimations that are funny, challenging and enjoyable. It didn't seem to have all the complexity of the PC game "The Incredible Machine" but still the puzzles and animation had my guys occupied and intellectually stimulated for about a month.
Customer Review: Excellent game Summary: 5 StarsLearning about gears, steam engines, power generators, and robots through a chain of events format could not be more fun for kids of any age. My son is six years old and he loves this game. We parents love playing it too!
